Justinian Michaels is the 2026–2027 HSS and Brooklyn Nets Lower Extremity Athlete Fellow. He earned his Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from New York Medical College after receiving his Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training from Ithaca College, where he also played collegiate soccer.
Prior to joining HSS, Justinian served as the Physical Therapist and Athletic Trainer for Long Island University Division I Men’s Basketball and previously worked with New York City Football Club. He has worked for NBA Basketball Without Borders camps in Singapore, England, and Rwanda, NBA All-Star Weekend, the NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament, and other high-profile basketball events, including the Jordan Brand Classic, Nike EYBL, the SLAM Summer Classic at Rucker Park, The Throne National Championship and most recently NBA Summer League in Las Vegas with the Nets.
His clinical interests include lower-extremity injuries, postoperative orthopedic care, sports medicine, return to sport, and integrating rehabilitation with athletic performance.
