Supporting rigorous and innovative study design and analysis for clinical, translational, and basic scientists
The Center for Biostatistics provides methodologic and analytic support to clinical, translational and basic scientists at HSS. The Center offers biostatistical consultation and analysis, study design and protocol development, statistical analysis planning, sample size and power calculations, and more.
The Mission of the Center for Biostatistics is to support rigorous and innovative study design and analysis, to provide high quality training and mentorship, and to contribute informative findings that improve patient care.
To achieve this mission, the Center for Biostatistics aims to:
- Promote successful clinical and translational research at HSS by providing state-of-the-art statistical support through active collaboration with clinical colleagues
- Help develop and support research agendas in targeted areas as determined by HSS leadership
- Promote excellence in clinical trial design, conduct, and analysis
- Enhance data science capabilities to support the various HSS initiatives in AI and machine learning
- Develop innovative statistical methods
- Train medical students, graduate students, postdoctoral fellows, and other research staff
